Counting down

6 weeks today till we let go the mooring lines in Troon Yacht Haven and head out of the Clyde estuary.
We have finished our last courses as a training centre and are now free to concentrate on getting Chewsy ready for her new adventures.
This week we have ordered our courtesy flags from over in the States.
Steve is fitting a holding tank to the aft heads. The tank itself will be in the cockpit locker with a diverter valve in the heads. There will be a pump out fitting on the port side of the boat forward of the gas locker.
Another job lined up for this week is the fitting of a 12 volt supply to the aft cabin so that we can use the fans I bought to try to keep us cool in the warmer climates. Coaxial cables are being replaced to make the SSB radio serviceable again, and wiring is being run to connect the Solar panel.
Our cockpit cushions are being made by Troon upholstery and should be ready by the end of this month. We have ordered 25 meters of canvas from Kayospruce and plan to make a sailing bimini which will protect us from the sun whilst sailing. We will also make deck awnings to reduce the temperature inside the boat. We probably will not get them all made before we leave, but as we are taking the sewing machine with us they can be made at any port of call.
